This year has passed by so quickly. \u00c2\u00a0I can’t\u00c2\u00a0believe\u00c2\u00a0it’s been one year since Scott and I exchanged voes at “our” little winery in Lodi, California with all our\u00c2\u00a0friends\u00c2\u00a0and family. \u00c2\u00a0Just looking through the photos from this post<\/a> reminds me off how much fun we had at our wedding. \u00c2\u00a0It also reminds me of how far we have traveled,\u00c2\u00a0literally, from one year ago.<\/p>\n

One year ago<\/p><\/div>\n

To celebrate our first\u00c2\u00a0anniversary, we spent the weekend in the nearby Mornington Peninsula, which is known for its beach side towns and cool climate wineries.<\/p>\n

We set off on Saturday morning and drove along the coast to Heronswood Garden. \u00c2\u00a0The garden is run by the Digger’s Club which grows and sells heirloom vegetables and fruit plants, so the gardens were mostly\u00c2\u00a0eatable\u00c2\u00a0plants and made us want to have a vegetable garden of our own.<\/p>\n

The next stop was the town of Sorrento to eat our picnic lunch and to try the famous vanilla slice. \u00c2\u00a0Located on the end of the Mornington Peninsula, Sorrento boasts two beaches, one on Port Phillip Bay and one on the ocean. \u00c2\u00a0After a walk along the front beach (on the Bay) we headed inland to the wine region and our Bed and Breakfast for the night.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, we spent the morning enjoying our breakfast hamper on our patio and then went to check out some of the wineries. \u00c2\u00a0Because of the cooler climate, the region is know for its Pinot Noir and\u00c2\u00a0Chardonnay. \u00c2\u00a0We got to taste at five different wineries and ended up with quite a few bottles to take home with us.<\/p>\n
