{"id":2300,"date":"2012-10-12T12:51:40","date_gmt":"2012-10-12T19:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/?p=2300"},"modified":"2012-10-16T01:11:34","modified_gmt":"2012-10-16T08:11:34","slug":"cafes-and-waterfalls-in-croatia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thejohnsonsjournal.com\/?p=2300","title":{"rendered":"Cafes and Waterfalls in Croatia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Barcelona we flew to the city of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.\u00c2\u00a0 Within moments we knew we liked Zagreb with its cafe culture and cute old town.\u00c2\u00a0 We also liked the relaxed atmosphere of the town and the locals.\u00c2\u00a0 We spend most of the day exploring the old town.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/albums\/294\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Courtney on a public art bench.\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/photos\/8237\/medium.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Courtney hanging out with the locals.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the afternoon we rested over a coffee and people-watching in an outdoor cafe.\u00c2\u00a0 We dined on local specialities of <em>stuckli<\/em>, a cottage cheese filled pastry, and the local grilled meats including<em> cevap\u00c4\u008d<\/em><em>i\u00c4\u2021<\/em><em>i<\/em>, minced meatballs.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/albums\/294\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" title=\"Stuckli\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/photos\/8236\/medium.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">We though this was going to be a &#8220;snack size&#8221; serving of\u00c2\u00a0stuckli<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Next, we traveled by bus to Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is known for its cascading waterfalls.\u00c2\u00a0 We spent a couple of hours taking the tram up and walking through the park.\u00c2\u00a0 Although the day was a bit gloomy we enjoyed the scenery, but perhaps the photos don&#8217;t really do it justice.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/albums\/287\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Waterfall at Plitvic National Park\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.thejohnsonsjournal.com\/photos\/8140\/medium.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Water falling over some rocks.
