Back In Perth

Posted: July 1st, 2012 by Scott

We finished the drive in the campervan back in Perth where we started two weeks before. We had a couple more days before parting ways with Alicia and Henry. One of the days we decided to do a walking tour of the city. This started at the cultural centre where we toured through a museum on the history of Western Australia. Next we meandered our way down through the CBD to see buildings from Perth’s history. Unfortunately, the guide didn’t really tell us much about why they were important, just a basic one or two sentences mostly describing the buildings’ appearances more than anything.

Some of the more interesting, looking at least, buildings were:

Old courthouse facade used as the entrance to the new courthouse

This new addition to the church which is attaches in the rear to the historic church.

The Swan Bells Tower which is home to bells which used to be in an historic town in London.

While walking around, we may have found a new career for Henry as a street performer.

After being cooped up in a campervan for a couple weeks, we needed to get out and get some air in our lungs and blood flowing through our muscles again so we did a little exercise. First we found some exercise equipment along the riverside walk which looked fun.

Then we stepped it up, literally…

All this work payed out and gave us a great view back to the city.
