It’s Hot in the Mountians

Posted: August 6th, 2010 by Courtney

After spending time with the family in Seattle, we set off into the mountains to visit the small towns of Cashmere and Leavenworth.  Our first stop was the Aplets & Cotlets Factory in Cashmere.  And as soon as we arrived we realized that it was about 94 degrees Fahrenheit in the mountains.  I guess I got what I asked for…warm weather, but this is just crazy!

Aplets & Cotlets are a candy I remember from my childhood and since these fruit and nut candies are a favorite of my mom, we decided to visit the store and take a factory tour.

After our brief stop in Cashmere, were drove to Leavenworth, the local Bavarian “village.”  And after a day of exploring the town, eating tasty sausages and beer, we spent the hot afternoon cooling off at the hotel’s pool.   After it cooled down in the evening, we had a lovely Italian dinner (guess we were tired of German food) and went to the summer theater production of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying”, which we all enjoyed.
