Sunny California

Posted: August 15th, 2010 by Courtney

After a great week with my family in Washington, we flew to LA to stay with Scott’s family and visit a few friends.  Our first stop when arriving back in California was El Burrito, Jr for some amazing burritos.  We had really been missing good Mexican food.

After doing a lot of shopping on Saturday, we went to an LA Galaxy vs. Real Madrid soccer game at the Rose Bowl.  The Galaxy scored two goals in the first half, but Real Madrid came back with three great goals in the second half to win the game.

On Sunday we met up with some friends and visited a few local breweries.  We had lunch and beer at one of our favorite’s, Pizza Port in San Clemente, then we headed down to Vista to the Green Flash Brewing Company for a taster flight.  Scott was definitely glad to be home for this!

The rest of the week was spent visiting with friends and family.  We even prepared an Aussie style BBQ for the family with Aussie style burgers with pineapple and beetroot and pavlova and Tim Tams for desert.

Our flight back to Melbourne went pretty well.  We even got to go through the express line at Customs (which was much better than the 2 hour wait we had to do the first time around.)  We had a great time in the States and are now having a hard time adjusting to the cold weather back home in Melbourne.

Green Flash! Oye, oye! One of the best…excellent choice my friend. I love that place, one of the perks of living in North County San Diego. Oh and there is also that little place called Stone Brew.
